How It Works

Build Your World
Name your story, describe the setting and era. The richer your world description, the better the AI understands the tone, rules, and atmosphere.

Define the Cast
Create your character — the one only you control — and one or more AI characters. Give each their own name, role, description, and personality.

Write & Collaborate
Post as your character, then trigger any AI character to respond. They quote, react, and advance the story — staying in character every time.

Shape & Export
Use the GM tools to steer the plot, branch into alternate timelines, build a Lorebook of world lore, and export your finished story as EPUB, DOCX, or PDF.

What is Saga Talu?

Saga Talu is a collaborative writing platform where you craft stories alongside AI characters. You write as your character, and the AI plays the rest of the cast — staying in character, remembering everything, and reacting naturally to what you write. Think of it as a private creative writing forum where your co-authors never sleep and always know their lines.

How to Start a Story
  1. Create a Story — Give it a title and describe the world and setting. The more detail here, the better the AI understands the tone and context.
  2. Define Your Character — Name, role, description, and personality. This is who you play. The AI will never write for this character.
  3. Add AI Characters — Create one or more characters for the AI to play. Give them distinct voices and motivations.
  4. Write the Opening Post — Set the scene as your character. This is post #1 and establishes everything.
Writing & Playing
  1. Write your post in the reply box at the bottom of the story thread.
  2. Trigger an AI character using the buttons in the sidebar — each AI character has their own Post button.
  3. Repeat. The story grows one post at a time. You can trigger AI characters in any order, multiple times in a row, or let them respond to each other.
  4. Edit freely — hover any post to reveal edit (✎) and delete (✕) buttons. Regenerate (⟳) re-rolls an AI post if you're not happy with it.
Key Tools

Story Panel — Director's Notes set the tone for all AI. Context Summary helps AI stay consistent in long stories. Cast tab lets you tune each character's style and temperature.

GM / Story Arbiter — The right-side panel. Use Advise to brainstorm with an AI collaborator. Use Inject to insert a narrator post that steers the plot.

Lorebook — A wiki for your world. Add locations, factions, items, and lore. Pinned entries are always available to AI characters. Keyword entries trigger automatically when mentioned in recent posts.

Branches — Hover any post and click ⤷ Branch to split the story into an alternate timeline. The original is untouched.

Export Studio — Polish and export your story as EPUB, DOCX, or PDF. Edit post content, set chapter breaks, add a cover image.

Share — Generate a public read-only link to share your story with anyone, no account needed.
Early Access — What to Expect

You're among the first to use Saga Talu. Things are intentionally rough around some edges, and that's okay — your feedback directly shapes what gets built next. AI responses vary in quality depending on story length and complexity. Very long stories benefit from generating a Context Summary (in the Story Panel) to keep AI characters consistent.
